Toddler in Michigan Suffers Dog Bite

A mixed breed dog bit a 14-month-old boy in Jackson, Michigan last week. The victim was at his grandmother's house when her dog may have tried to get a chip the toddler was eating. The dog bite was on his face.

The victim

was taken to Foote Hospital, then transported to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Heins said.
The boy was released from the hospital Monday and is doing OK, Wedemeyer said. His face is mostly swollen, she said.
Upset about her grandson, she said the 11-year-old dog is not coming back to her home. It will be euthanized. "The dog is gone," she said.

The dog is being monitored for rabies and other diseases. No charges will be filed.

Boone Teenager Bit By Dog

A teenager was trying to retrieve his dog when he was bit by another dog. He believed it to be a pitbull but the owner took off with her dog before he could get any information from her.

A 15-year-old Boone boy had 24 hours to track down the owner of a dog that bit him, in order to avoid a series of painful shots.
Within minutes of his story airing on Channel 13, someone located the dog.

It was confirmed to Animal Control that the dog had a current rabies vaccination. The victim was able to avoid getting the shots.

Arkansas Woman Files Dog Bite Lawsuit

A woman who was attacked by a pit bull last December has filed a dog bite lawsuit against the dog's owner. Lynetta Jones was walking to check her mail when she saw Paul Watson's daughter walking his dog. The pit bull broke free from the girl and attacked Jones - biting her on the arm and yanking her from side to side until a good samaritan driving by stopped to help her.

Watson knew the dog was aggressive and dangerous, the suit alleges. The animal, an aggressive species of dog, had exhibited aggressive, dangerous behavior prior to the attack, according to the suit.
The suit claims Watson also knew or should have known that the daughter was not physically capable of " leading" the dog and preventing an attack on another person and should not have allowed her to walk the dog unassisted, according to the lawsuit.

Watson was convicted of harboring a vicious animal after the attack.
