By age 17, Katie Sheffler had been a ballerina for 15 years already. As a result of some hip pain, a Fort Lauderdale doctor, Dr. Marc Philippon, operated and performed what Ms. Sheffler's attorney's deemed an unnecessary surgery and one that he had never done prior. In the suit for Medical Malpractice, a jury found in favor of Ms. Sheffler in the amount of $2.15 Million.
