A Canadian pet food manufacturer is recalling a large amount of dog and cat food that may be contaminated. Dogs and cats across Florida that have eaten the food are being affected with kidney failure and even death.

Menu Foods issued the recall for its "cuts and gravy" style pet food in cans and pouches. The products are sold under a variety of labels including Publix brand. A complete list of the 53 labels affected is available at http://www.menufoods.com/recall/product_dog.html.

The list includes a link to a document that provides the product description and UPC numbers of the affected cans and pouches.

Throughout the United States pet owners have reported deaths and illnesses from the food.

If you believe your dog or cat has been affected, contact your veterinarian immediately. If you would like to speak to an attorney, please use our form on the right.
